Forensics
Originally developed for airborne and spaceborne applications, hyperspectral imaging has now been introduced to
forensic applications. ITD patented Focal Plane Scanner (U.S. Patent No. 6166373) enables hyperspectral image acquisition
in a variety of modes. This versatility allows the end user to examine virtually any kind of forensic evidence.

The RDACS/H3 hyperspectral imaging system measures the intensity of reflected energy from a given target from 430 - 900
nanometers. The system can capture imagery at a variety of spatial and spectral resolutions chosen by the end user. Imagery
is acquired using a push-broom mechanism that scans the target one line at a time while recording a complete spectral profile
from each picture element. These data element are then constructed into a data “cube”, or hyperspectral image.
