Job Title: Senior Image Analyst

Responsibilities: The position will be a part of a research team conducting experiments in the area of Food and Feed Safety, and collaborating on projects using multi and hyperspectral imaging systems. In addition to participating in the design and execution of experiments including image acquisition and data analysis, the position requires experience developing techniques and algorithms for information extraction from hyperspectral and other image data; providing direction to other image analysts; communicating with scientists from partner organizations; writing technical reports and research papers; as well as, recommendations regarding integrated hardware and software solutions. Support efforts to secure new funding and contribute to proposal development.

Requirements: The candidate should have a strong Engineering, Biological and/or Food Science background and a MS in one of the Sciences or Engineering disciplines. A minimum 3 year experience with image analysis software (e.g. Imagine, ENVI), proficiency with a programming language (e.g. C/C++, MATLAB, ENVI/IDL, etc.), and familiarity with statistical applications (e.g. SAS), are also essential. In addition, the individual should be self-motivated, fit well in a multidisciplinary team environment, and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
